Founded in 1955
Totem Yacht Club is located in Ruston, just north of Tacoma. We are an active and affordable club for power and sail boating enthusiasts or those without boats who just enjoy social activities. With over sixty-five years of cruising and friendship, we remain a down-to-earth, family friendly club that enjoys members of all age groups. The club welcomes new members.
Totem enjoys reciprocal moorage privileges with nearly one hundred boating clubs in Puget Sound, the San Juan Islands, Canadian destinations, California and Hawaii providing convenient and affordable cruising to popular destinations as well as clubhouse amenities. We participate in annual events, such as Seattle Opening Day, Daffodil Weekend, South Sound Opening Day, etc. In addition to weekend cruises year-round and an annual summer cruise, there are non-boating social activities at the clubhouse overlooking Commencement Bay. When not in use by the club, the clubhouse is available for rental by the public.
Totem Yacht Club strives to remain one of the most active and respected yacht clubs in the greater Puget Sound by fostering and growing an esteemed membership of active boating enthusiasts, by affiliating with other boating clubs in shared reciprocal privileges and navigation contests. We support public recreational boating events and educational opportunities. In addition, we demonstrate best boating practices and sound environmental stewardship.
There are plenty of opportunities to participate in club leadership, pitch in on cruises and social events, or prepare some favorite recipe for a potluck gathering. Feel free to drop in to one of our meetings (first Tuesday, except July and August) or join us on one of our cruises.
